The Festive Playlist
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas (which, despite the TV ads starting in November, doesn't begin in our house until after the festive edition of the Radio Times is on sale) so once again I've blown the dust off of the Ho! Ho! Ho! playlist. This year it's had a fresh sprinkling of yuletide magic and, thanks to some newly discovered Festive tunes, now clocks in at a truly excessive 20 hours and change.
In pre-Spotify days this playlist existed as a 9 hour collection of tunes, lovingly curated in WinAmp, that filled the corridors of SoMC Towers with Festive Indie and Twee every December (including such non-streaming fare as The Diskettes' cover of Noel and Pledge Drive's Christmas reworking of a Queen classic). The SoMC Playlist
A sampler of tunes that the peculiar foot-tapping music lovers of the Son of Music Club have stumbled across, liked and had on repeat. It mostly features new music but old favourites or musical oddities are just as likely to be added whenever one of us can be bothered to update it (and we promise it'll only ever be about 2 hours long, honest).
The Lockdown Playlist
2020 was very much a year for staying stuck indoors, furtively looking out of windows whilst trying desperately to not miss going to gigs too much (which I failed dismally at). A slightly thematic playlist then, lovingly collated with a variety of interesting songs (most of which you may already be familiar with, some you may not have heard before) designed to keep us entertained whilst we surveyed the mundane majesty of The Great Indoors.
